Patrick's goal to complete all the Great Walk in New Zealand had him face the reality and risk of outdoors sports. When on a solo multi-day trip through Whanganui Journey turned into close call on day 2. Upon returning to the United States in 2020 he made it a mission to never make that mistake again and spent a month with Nantahala Outdoor Center where he found his love for paddling. Over the last few years he has been fortunate to paddle across Colorado, Arizona, North Carolina, Tennessee, California, as well as internationally in Chile and Vietnam. Home is Seattle, Washington where he now focuses on spreading safety awareness and sharing his passion for the sport as the chair of the Education and Safety Committee with the American Packraft Association and holds ACA L4 Whitewater Packrafting and ACA L3 River Kayaking certifications.
With travel and exploration being the primary motivations for his paddling. Similar to the increased access and creative routes provided by packrafts, Trak Kayak's are a spiritual extension of that view for open water expeditions and adventures. With so much to do and so many choices for gear and equipment, the versatility, portability, and performance of Trak Kayaks make them an ideal boat for someone that focuses on experiences first.
