TRAK, the Soufriere Outdoor Centre, and the Dominican People invite you to the new Waitukubuli Sea Trail. It will be an adventurous trip lead by experienced local guides with the support of TRAK Pilots. 

This seven day adventure will take you up the entire West coastline of Dominica. Along the way you will be able to discover the soul of Dominica through the welcoming local communities and stunningly conserved natural wonders.

The colourful coastal parishes of Dominica are eager to host you in comfortable resorts where you can lay your head after exciting days of paddling, snorkelling, diving, hiking, and surfing. Pure food will your belly as you enjoy local favourites of grilled fish, fresh fruit, and delicacies like Mountain Chicken and Manicou.

The TRAK 2.0 is your vitality vessel to explore and experience the vibrant majesty of the Caribbean's Nature Island. Available for reservation with US$1,000 deposit, with balance of US$1,650 due 60 days before departure.

Pricing includes private room per-guest accommodations and a TRAK 2.0 Kayak + gear rental for the duration of the trip. If you plan to share a room with your partner +/ would like to bring your own TRAK kayak, please inquire directly for access to discounts.

Flight Information

A weekly Saturday service departs Newark, NJ at 9:10 am and arrives in Dominica at 2:39 pm local time. Return flights leave Dominica at 3:45 p.m., landing in Newark at 7:51 p.m. United Airways operates this route with Boeing 737-700 aircraft. 

 

Meet your guides

 

Kerry Alleyne

Kerry Alleyne is a Dominican kayaker who started paddling in his teenage years and has since become the Chief Warden at the Marine Reserve and Lead Kayak Guide at the Soufriere Outdoor Centre. In 2021, he made history as part of the duo to first circumnavigate Dominica by modern sea kayak.

Kerry loves nothing more than living life to the fullest. He's an incredible Lionfish hunter who loves providing visitors with an authentic Dominican experience on and off the water. His goal is to help you fall in love with the charm and beauty of Dominica.

 

Weston Moses

Weston Moses hails from the high country of Colorado, but has called Dominica home for a number of years now after falling in love with the Caribbean during his time as a humanitarian aid worker. Weston recently recorded the first circumnavigation of Dominica by sea kayak, and he is now inspiring others to explore his adopted home and discover some of the best warm water paddling anywhere in the world. 

The Caribbean is a vast region, with many distinct peoples and languages, various biomes, and countless islands ranging from large and biodiverse to little more than a sandbar.

DAY 3: Paddle to Salisbury, Colourful villages (20km)

Kayak Surfing at Layou River

Day 4: Kayak to Portsmouth, Rest at Secret Beach (20km)

- Beautiful coastline to explore every nook and cranny
- Lunch at Secret Bay with Snorkeling

Day 5: Explore Indian River, Cabrits National Park (5km)

- Paddle up the Indian River and over to the Cabrits National Park
- Lunch at the famous Keepin’ it Real

Day 6: Segment 14 to the Guadeloupe Channel! (15km)

Are my flights included in the price?

Your transportation to and from the starting location is not included in the trip price. For more information about flights and logistics, contact our team.

Do I have to sleep in a tent?

Not if you don't want to. Each TRAK trip is uniquely tailored for paddlers based on their comfort zones. Some trips are designed for paddlers with lots of experience and personal camping gear, while others are designed for paddlers who prefer to base camp from a fixed roof accommodation.

Do I have to get wet?

Not if you don't want to! While our instructors are often happy to teach skills around wet exits, reentries, and rescues, you are not required to do so.
