Ease of Set-Up
It’s easy. There are only 10 pieces, no tools, and once you’ve learned how to set it up, you will be ready to paddle in minutes. There are a few little tips and tricks that will make it go even more smoothly.
With practice, you can easily get the set-up time down to 10 minutes or less. The first few times should take you 20 - 30 minutes. Once familiar, it is uncommon for someone to take longer than 15 minutes. The record is just over 4.5 minutes. We’ve also learned that if you actually want to set-up your kayak in less than 10 minutes, you need to hide from the general public. It does attract a crowd!
How did we make set-up this easy?
Our team was determined. We knew that you want to spend your time and effort paddling, not setting up your kayak. The “ultimate” in a touring kayak needs to be convenient, so we worked hard and smart until we got it there.
We were committed to it being intuitive, simple and not requiring a lot of strength. The design principle was that a 12-year old, after watching it go together once, could set-up the kayak in 20 minutes or less. The TRAK 2.0 has a colour-coded frame system and great improvements to our already industry-leading design.
